Fujichrome Velvia 100F
Fujichrome Velvia 100F is a faster version of the it's famous sister, Velvia 50. Offering an additional stop of speed, this is an excellent film for more varied conditions, such as travel photography where ISO50 is just a bit too slow. It posesses the same vivid colour as Velvia 100, but in our opinion, whereas Velvia 100 is a little more controlled over the 50, Velvia 100F is a little more controlled, again, over the Velvia 100, especially in relation to delicate tones. As with the 50, it's ideal for nature and landscape photography. Fuji claim that the film incorporates advanced cyan, magenta, and yellow couplers which enables the additional speed over Velvia 50, but with the added advantages of higher speed and finer grain. Velvia 100F has an RMS granularity of 8, which is an improvement over the original Velvia 50 and ranking it alongside other Fujifilm professional film products, such as Fujichrome Astia 100F, Fujichrome Provia 100F and Fujichrome Velvia 100 as the finest grained in its speed class. The new colour couplers employed in Fujichrome Velvia 100 significantly improve colour stability and freedom from fading/shift over conventional films.
We would suggest running tests between the 100 and 100F, because this will be the only way to establish a personal preference.
