Warmtone Developers
A range of developers formulated to increase the warmth of black and white prints, visible especially in the highlights. Regular, neutral, papers show a marked increase in warmness. When used with warmtone papers, the effect is to increase warmth still further. Whether to print a negative warm or cold is a critical decision and it can not be said any particular type of photographic subject benefits more than an other. It is a creative decision of the photographer and/or photographic printer. However, warm tones do seem to have a lot of popularity.
